How Do You Apply for MBBS Abroad from India?

Applying for MBBS abroad through WCIEC takes six steps and usually 5–10 weeks. If you have passed NEET, you can start: book free counselling, choose a university and apply, prepare your documents, get your student visa, then travel.

    Pass NEET-UG. A NEET pass (the qualifying score) is enough to apply for MBBS abroad, along with Class 12 in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

    Choose a University and Apply

    Pick a university from WCIEC's partner list. We submit your application, and the offer letter usually arrives in 1–2 weeks.

    Prepare Your Documents

    Gather your 10th and 12th marksheets, NEET scorecard, passport and photos. We help with apostille and attestation.

Yes. You must pass NEET-UG to study MBBS abroad and later practise medicine in India. A NEET pass (the qualifying score for your category) is enough; you don't need a high rank. Without a NEET pass, a foreign medical degree cannot be used to sit the FMGE or NExT licensing exam.
A NEET pass is enough. You only need the qualifying score for your category, which usually works out to roughly 110–160+ marks out of 720 and changes every year. You also need Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
Yes, if the programme meets NMC's Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate Regulations, 2021: at least 54 months of study plus a 12-month internship at the same university, taught in English, and leading to a licence to practise in that country. Graduates must then clear FMGE (to be replaced by NExT) and complete a 12-month internship in India. WCIEC checks each programme against these rules.
FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduates Examination) is the screening test that Indian citizens with a foreign medical degree must pass to register as doctors in India. It is conducted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) twice a year, has 300 multiple-choice questions, and requires 150 out of 300 to pass. NMC plans to replace it with the National Exit Test (NExT).
The total cost of MBBS abroad is about ₹18–60 lakh for the full programme, covering tuition, hostel and food. Approximate totals: Kazakhstan ₹18–25 lakh, Kyrgyzstan ₹25–30 lakh, Russia ₹30–40 lakh and Georgia ₹30–60 lakh. Flights and personal expenses are extra, and WCIEC shares a written, university-wise breakdown during free counselling.
Admission usually takes 5–10 weeks from first counselling to departure. The university's offer or invitation letter arrives within 1–2 weeks of applying, document preparation and attestation take another 1–2 weeks, and visa processing takes about 2–4 weeks for Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan and 3–6 weeks for Russia and Georgia.
Yes. The programmes WCIEC recommends are taught in English, which NMC requires for a foreign degree to count in India. In countries such as Russia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, students usually also learn some of the local language to talk with patients during clinical postings.
There is no single best country; it depends on your budget, NEET score and preferences. Kazakhstan (about ₹18–25 lakh) and Kyrgyzstan (about ₹25–30 lakh) have the lowest total costs, Russia costs about ₹30–40 lakh, and Georgia offers a European-style curriculum at about ₹30–60 lakh. A WCIEC counsellor will recommend options for your profile.
MBBS abroad gives NEET-qualified students a medical degree for about ₹18–60 lakh in total, often less than private medical colleges in India.
